What started as a spontaneous photography experiment by a few Austrian students in the early 1990′s has grown into an international phenomenon. This socio-cultural movement has created a community that uses photography to creatively communicate and capture the world. Lomography is exploding across the world, and it’s about to hit Austin, Texas in a big way with the Diana World Tour.
The tour is a traveling exhibition that portfolios the finest Diana images alongside a collection of Diana customized clone cameras. In July, the tour makes its first stop in the Lone Star State at the Lomography Gallery Store Austin. The Customized Clones exhibit during the tour will feature a collection of 20 Diana F+ cameras. The twist? Each camera was given to an artist, taste-maker, illustrator or creative-type from Austin to re-invent. The Sanctuary is honored to be one of the designers selected to participate.
With the Austin portion of the tour a week out, the Sanctuary wanted to give you a sneak preview of our “camera in a camera” spin on the Diana F+ before you get to see it in person.
How did our creative team execute the look? Let’s just say it involved a silicon mold, clear resin and smashing our lovely, gold Diana F+ into as many pieces as possible.
Don’t miss out! The Sanctuary camera, along with 19 other re-invented cameras, will be on display starting July 19 at the Lomography Gallery Store located on Congress Avenue before the tour continues to the likes of New York, Madrid, Milan, Hong Kong and beyond.
