When it comes to clothes printing, you have many options. One option is to create a design in digital software and then print it out onto a white piece of transfer paper. A plotter cuts out the design, following the outline created in the software. The printout is then placed on a suitable spot on the garment, and the print is heat treated to adhere to the fabric. This process is both cost-effective and easy to do. And it can even be done on a budget!

Direct-to-garment (DTG) printing is another popular option. This process entails spraying ink onto a garment, allowing for extremely detailed designs. Another advantage of DTG is that it does not require an inventory, which makes it ideal for print-on-demand services. While DTG printing can be costly, it is great for small batch orders and offers accurate color reproduction. Depending on the size and design of your garment, you may be able to use this method to create a customised t-shirt.

While office printers can’t print on black t-shirts, a printshop can do this. The process starts with printing a layer of white ink on a white polyester garment. This white underbase protects the printed areas from colour. Then the fabric is dyed only on the parts of the fabric not covered with the resist. This gives a plisse effect. To ensure the print lasts, it is treated with caustic soda to remove any excess dye.
