Types of Clothes Printing

Screen printing is a popular and versatile technique for customising clothing. It can be used to print logos, team names and other designs onto shirts, but also on bags, hats and other apparel.

It’s also a great way to make your company or brand stand out from the rest of the crowd. It’s an inexpensive method, but you can get a high quality result if you use the right materials and techniques.

There are several types of clothes printing methods, each with its own advantages and drawbacks. For example, some methods work better on certain types of fabric and require specialized equipment. Others are easier to set up for a single shirt and don’t require much prep work before printing, making them ideal for on-demand print orders.

Direct to garment (DTG) is a newer method that uses inkjet technology to print directly on shirts. It’s a good option for a variety of custom designs, but it has its limitations – most notably, it doesn’t work as well on dark shirts.

The best results are achieved by using a plastisol ink, which is composed of PVC particles suspended in a plasticizing emulsion. It creates excellent colour opacity and clear graphic detail on dark garments.

Screen printed t-shirts are known for their vibrant colors and high vibrancy, which can be made even more striking by the application of extra layers of ink. The downside is that screen printing requires more setup time than DTG and can be expensive for small runs, especially if you’re printing multiple colors.
