clothes printing

Shirt printing is an increasingly popular way to advertise your business. From personalised merchandise to giveaways and promotions, a well-branded garment is a surefire way to attract potential customers’ attention and get them talking about your business.

Clothes printing involves using different techniques to add colour and design to a garment. It is important to understand the types of clothes printing methods and what they can achieve so that you can choose the most appropriate option for your business.

Screen Printing

A specialised skill, screen printing is used to produce a range of custom designs and artworks onto a garment or item of clothing. It utilises a stencil to create a space in the fabric where the ink can be pushed through and onto the cloth.

Direct to Garment Printers

The most recent and modern method of t-shirt printing is direct to garment (DTG) printers. Unlike the older methods, DTG printers spray ink directly onto the garment to make it look like it has been printed by an inkjet machine.

Heat Transfer Paper

The main difference between heat transfer printing and other methods of printing is that the transfer paper has been pre-printed with carefully selected dyes. The paper is then passed through a type of hot calender and the pattern transferred to the fabric.

Airbrushing

A very quick and simple method of applying colour to a garment, airbrushing involves using high-quality paints and spraying the color right onto the shirt. However, it is important to examine the quality of the garment and fabric in advance. This technique is not advisable for items that will be worn long-term, and it can cause damage to the shirts when applied in high volumes.
